​"Die Hymne" - Folterkammer

T&E writer Daniel says, "Lately I have been delighted to no end by Folterkammer's Die Lederpredigt from top to bottom, but I think 'Die Hymne' really is a special treat.  A curious and bold listener will find themselves assailed mercilessly by alternating wails and guttural howls in a kind of call and answer ceremony, all accompanied by a surprisingly danceable rhythm.  It really has a unique sense of fun that I always find so charming in black metal, and that sometimes seems so hard to find in the genre.  If vengeful growls and a haunting dirge set to a bit of a head-bopping beat sound like a good time, give this a listen!"

This last album shows that they're as masterful in the studio as they are on stage, blending influences like Phish and Pat Metheny with Fleet Foxes and emo. And like any good blend, "Hungersite" fuses these influences, finely balanced, through catchy chords and hooks, and flashes back to 70s rock."
