Parisa manager, writer, dj, zine maker, podcaster Parisa has been passionate about music journalism since she began working at the University of Arizona's college radio station, KAMP Student Radio. She continued this passion through T&E and hosting the Global Rhythm Radio show on 91.3 FM KXCI Tucson. Her interests include sending postcards, collecting Crumb comics, animal liberation, and filling her brain with deep-cut Simpsons trivia. |
Greg Gonzalez Editor & writer Greg found a love for music and writing in a non-traditional high school class, which turned him on to Sonic Youth, the No Wave movement, and automatic writing. Through the University of Arizona's interdisciplinary program and Arizona Student Media, he developed a voice in personal essays and radio shows. These days, he writes reviews and volunteers for KXCI Community Radio in Tucson. A native to Tucson, he digs rainy hikes, collecting Q&As with locals, skateboarding downtown, and extremely bitter beers. |
Alan Kiddings Editor & writer Alan is a writer living in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a college radio DJ for several years, first at KHDX, and later at KAMP. Since then, he has been working in an archive for country music. He loves basketball. 
Alex Lopez artist & Writer Alex Lopez was raised on the likes of The Beatles, ABBA, Marvin Gaye, and Selena, and later gravitated towards punk and metal early in his teen years. His love of all music carried over to his studies at the University of Arizona, where he became heavily involved in KAMP Student Radio and served as Metal Music Director for two years. Upon completing his degree in Environmental Science, he returned home to the San Francisco Bay Area to work as an environmental consultant. In his free time, Alex enjoys exercising, trying to snowboard, and waking up way too early on the weekends to cheer on his favorite English soccer team, Tottenham Hotspur. 
Noé Loyola Writer, dj & photographer Noé is a writer born in México and currently living in Seattle. She is into things such as making drinks, going on walks, biking, reading fiction and philosophy, playing video games, couchsurfing, getting to know others and learning new skills. When it comes to music, she is a fan of anything out there and unique, and mostly listens to ambient, drone, electronic, video game soundtracks and metal. She is also learning how to DJ, where she goes by CBDiabla. 
A. Iwasa Writer, zine distro A. Iwasa was born in the San Francisco Bay Area but mostly grew up in the west suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio (Clevo) where he started to contribute to and publish 'zines while playing in metalcore bands in the mid-to-late 1990s. Follow him on Bandcamp 
Chelsea Whitaker Photographer & writer Chelsea is a music and editorial photographer, social media manager, and writer based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They love music, tattoos, Disney, craft beer, cats and travel. They have a passion for cinematic storytelling through photography. They love experimenting with different styles of photography and pushing themselves out of their comfort zone in order to create unique results. After sneaking a camera into a show in 2017, they found a way to merge their two passions, photography and music. Now, they work with bands and musicians regularly to cover live sets, create promo and album art, and anything else they need! Their favorite genre is PopCore - which is a combination of Hardcore and Alternative Pop, but their music interests are very eclectic. Chelsea loves everything from classic country to death metal - you'll find them at any combination of shows in a given week. Brian Denton Writer Brian is a full-time Data Analyst, moonlighting as an artist and selling his zines and art prints at the occasional zine fest around Sacramento, California. He's the co-founder of YOGURT Culture Zine: a publication featuring art and literature from creators around the globe. His current music obsession: Stevie Nicks. 
Nick Gonzaga WRITER Nick is a Phoenix native, a writer and the host of “Gonz After Curfew” on 102.9 KDIF in South Phoenix. Formerly a music journalist for Burning Hot Events, he’s reviewed bands like A Perfect Circle, Incubus and Styx to name a few. When he’s not writing, Nick enjoys playing guitar or mandolin, listening to his record collection and producing his show. Outside of office hours, you can catch him hard at work meticulously planning his escape to the northwest or slaying some Star Wars: Rogue Squadron on Nintendo 64. 
Mike Barnett podcaster & writer Michael Barnett grew up in the suburbs of Massachusetts. He studied Creative Writing at the College of Santa Fe in New Mexico. Since 2010 he’s lived in Tucson where he devotes his time to writing music, recording music and performing music. He enjoys samurai movies, spearmint gum and writing about himself in the third person. 
Randy Asakura writer & artist Randy Asakura is an occasional writer, amateur artist and musician. He also makes zines which he distributes to anyone who asks. He currently resides in Washington state. 
Noa Martucci Writer Noa is a Philadelphia native who is now writing and living in the Los Angeles area. She is as much of a creator as an appreciator and has attended hundreds of shows while working at Tucson’s favorite music venues - the Rialto Theatre and 191 Toole. When she isn’t working her day job in digital marketing, you can find Noa spending time outside, stretching, and talking about how much SeaWorld sucks. Maybe even doing all three at once. 
Daniel Witter Writer Daniel is a graduate of the University of Arizona in Chemical Engineering. Two-time jazz music director and one-time head music director at KAMP Student Radio, he finds it in his interests to jam to the rhythm of the world at all times. He currently works on an advanced degree in chemical engineering, and is forever in pursuit of a jazzier world for all. A few of his favorite things are boots, sriracha, coffee, and bikes. 
Laura Bargfeld writer Laura is an eclectic maker of things and sweeper of popcorn currently based in Tucson, Arizona. They graduated from U of A with a Major in Creative Nonfiction and Minor in Film and Television. Through the collective, they hope to budget more time for writing, increase their music knowledge, and expand their brain beyond the confines of their own limited skull. 
Raymond Sanchez Writer Born in Hawaii and raised in Tucson, Raymond's love of music goes back to age 8, when he got his first guitar. Since then, he's played with multiple bands around Tucson and developed a taste for a wide range of artists and genres, from hip-hop to Hawaiian slack-key guitar. After graduating from the University of Arizona in 2015, he moved to Seattle to pursue a PhD in neuroscience at the University of Washington, where he studies sleep and circadian rhythms. In his spare time, he digs going to shows, playing music, writing, eating poke bowls and downing coffee and craft beer to fight seasonal affective disorder. 
Jeremy Mirchandani Photographer Jeremy has a passion for music and photography and happened to find the perfect intersection of the two doing concert photography while working at KAMP Student Radio. He now lives up in Seattle which provides an abundant amount of opportunities to see and capture live music. During the day, he works as a software engineer which also serves as 8 hours to listen to all the newest albums. On the side, Jeremy enjoys plants, rock climbing, and eating Thai food on Thursdays with his buds. |

Ronny Kerr Writer, editor, dj Ronny Kerr is a writer born, raised, and living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thanks to his parents’ good taste, he grew up on Motown and Bob Dylan, and has since expanded his ears in all directions. At Pomona College, he hosted electronic and classical radio shows on the campus station, KSPC 88.7 FM. Today, he plays drums, bass, and even spins disco records from time to time. After spending most of 2015 marching to the rhythm of his own beat (walking coast-to-coast across America from New York to San Francisco), he has settled back into the city by the bay. 
Alisha DeCou photographer & writer Alisha DeCou is a photographer with a passion for writing. She currently resides near a mountain in the desert of Arizona with her many children, dogs and cats. Her fascination for learning has lead her to a career in behavior therapy by way of the classroom. Teaching only solidified her passion for music. Raising a musician helped with that too. One day, she hopes to further her research in music therapy for autism with emphasis on live music. Her hobbies include an unhealthy obsession with horror and serial killers, swimming with her heathens and all things DC comics.

Kurt B. Reighley writer Kurt B. Reighley has been writing about music for fun and profit since 1989. His work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Variety, and The Advocate, among many others; he is also the author of five books. As DJ El Toro, he spent 11 years on-air at KEXP Seattle and is now heard on KXCI Tucson and at Virtual Tiny Tea Dance, a Sunday afternoon online LGBTQ+ disco party. Michelle Dillon Photographer Michelle is a photographer and a weirdo who is not entirely sure she actually exists. She is a giant nerd and digs music, books, smut and pizza. Andrej Simeunovic Writer Andrej has been passionate about music ever since his dad showed him Deep Purple in 5th grade. Much to the dismay of Papa Simeunovic, Deep Purple was soon replaced with the likes of Slayer and Cannibal Corpse, and Andrej has not looked back since. Today he is a fervent fan of all things metal, jazz, hip-hop, funk, soul, and anything “dope”. Currently, Andrej gets turnt in the greater Miami area and works full time in biomedical engineering. He also enjoys Christopher Hitchens novels, Nutella, all dogs except for certain ones (they know who they are), and traveling. 
Hazel Avery WRITER Hazel is a writer & poet living in Philadelphia. Her non-fiction has appeared in Real Lif Mag and is forthcoming in Popula, and her poetry is available at Metatron Press. She loves figs very much 
Sieya Sims Writer Sieya is a native Virginian who currently resides in Los Angeles, California. As a child, her father exposed her to the blues, funk, and Motown, and she has been passionate about music ever since. Growing up, she spent her time primarily writing poetry and fiction, but a History of Hip-Hop class at the College of William and Mary is what helped turn her on to music journalism. She currently works at an ad agency but spends her free time going to shows, playing beach volleyball, writing poetry, and defending Kanye West. 
Brandon Biallas Writer Brandon is a musician and student currently pursuing a degree in Music Therapy. He was born and raised in Scottsdale, AZ but his heart is in Portland, OR and he hopes to one day move there. In his spare time he likes watching old movies, ranking local breakfast burritos, unhealthily obsessing over his favorite bands, and making and painting art projects out of wood. 
Will Elizondo artist Will likes spending time with his partner Cora and their dog Figs, talking about ghosts, monsters, strange dimensions, making weird noises, making art, and figuring out how that all ties into the housing market, all while going to school for cyber security. 
Joanna Swaap Writer Joanna was born and raised in NYC and went to undergrad at the U of A (go KAMP!). Apart from her love of music, she’s interested in getting certifications in an infinite list of random things + is overly passionate about graphic tees, paper goods, coffee, surf + skate culture, and creative movement. 
Anita Cochiolo writer & artist Anita Cochiolo is an illustrator and animator born in 1997. They are a military brat and has never lived in one place for more than three years. Anita currently studies illustration at the University of Arizona, and works part time at the Center for Digital Humanities creating characters for VR research projects. Mike enjoys tortellini, drawing, painting, sculpting, animating, watching horror films, reading comic books, and going to local rock shows. 
Brittne MacCleary Writer Brittne is an award-winning journalist, writing for National Geographic, Vice Magazine and Better Homes & Gardens. Despite Brittne’s esteemed career, she has since retired to enjoy the company of her three parrots and delve into her new hobby of crafting gourmet carrot cake. Coming out of retirement to contribute to the Trial and Error Collective was not a hard decision. Brittne leads her life by trial and error so it seemed a natural fit. Brittne is excited to contribute and share within this collective and feels her musings here may be some of her best-published work. |
