Premiering today off their upcoming album One, Austin-based atmospheric hip hop group Hara share their lead single "Branches". The group is the collaborative effort between rappers Tåsi and Falling Awake Sound Therapy and producer Left Ear. By lyrically weaving together personal reflections with natural elements, the track organically mirrors each artist's distinct positionality and establishes a harmonious balance between contemplation and conviction. Listen to the premiere, accompanied with a poem by Tåsi, below: I wanna know a long ago And far away and long awaited The branches spoke under the sun Amidst the day I look for one... This song (and album) was produced, written, and arranged in late 2016/17 by three branches of the same tree. It is the summation of a cohesive, collective experience of each other’s contexts and possibilities. In many ways, it needed many years to poke through the canopy--to see the light of day: A Branch can be many things Branch as reaching Branch as connection Branch as community Branch as roots Branch as land Branch as family Branch as generations Branch as time Branch as growth Branch as shape Branch as map Branch as strength Branch as hold on Branch as hold on Hold on Hold on -Hara The full album will be available on cassette December 11th on (iN)Sect Records.
