A review of the new memoir by Cleveland hardcore singer Don Foose (The Spudmonsters, Run Devil Run) that discusses tour life, socriety, veganism and more.
Long time hardcore punk vocalist and lyricist Don Foose brings it all together in this collection of short essays whose topics range from growing up on the wild side to fatherhood, physical fitness, nutrition, sobriety, and of course music fandom and creation alike. From auditioning for The Spudmonsters, to auditioning for Bad Brains, Foose takes you from the practice spot to European tours!
If you're unfamiliar with his work, please stop reading now and Consult the Oracle for The Spudmonsters' Stop the Madness, then Run Devil Run's The Killing Civilization.
This book reads a lot like old Spudmonsters' material, sometimes laugh out loud funny, other times very deep. It's a good look at the complex lives suburban Clevo rockers from the past lived, from one who continues to both rock and thrive!
