For the October edition of the collaborative blog, the collective created a playlist to satisfy your sweet tooth. These songs are all about candy, sugar, and other sweet treats to get you ready for your Halloween sugar rush.
T&E contributor Alex Lopez on his pick, "Cinnamon Girl" - Neil Young: "Cinnamon is technically a spice, but it is coupled with sugar in what is without question the greatest beverage ever enjoyed by human beings: the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. I don’t care how many people now think I’m low key a basic white girl (I am). PSL season is a part of the year I anxiously await. I pick out what clothes I’m gonna wear to my local Starbucks on September 1 like it’s the first day of school all over again. The spice extends life. The spice expands consciousness. The spice must flow. Likewise, there’s something about “Cinnamon Girl” by Neil Young that has similar qualities to this seasonal sugar bomb. It’s fun, outgoing, a little sarcastic, and it feels like it lights up the same reward centers of your brain that PSLs do upon first sip. This is the perfect soundtrack for showing up at Starbucks on a crisp autumn morning to get your fix and start your day off right. Just don’t forget your UGG boots."
T&E contributor Parisa Eshrati on her pick, "Lips Like Sugar" - Echo and the Bunnymen:
"Feelin' too spooky to get into sugary pop songs? This song will both satisfy your sweet cravings and your Halloween moodiness. An ideal song for anyone trying to stay true to their inner goth while secretly wanting to dance and be happy."
