It's time to dust out the cobwebs! For the March edition of our collaborative post, T&E contributors created a playlist for all your spring cleaning needs.
T&E contributor Brandon Biallas on his track selection "Dance Yrself Clean" - LCD Soundsystem: “Clocking in at nearly 9 minutes, this slowburner of an indie dance-pop song could have easily flown under the radar were it not for the hypnotic trance it seems to put you under. DJ and songwriter James Murphy went on to tell The Sun about his intentions behind the song: ‘The track is two different kinds of songs. Literally, they’re part one and part two, but I didn’t want to do that because it’s pretentious.’ These sections are easily defined by the steadily monotone first half which is stitched together with some contagious keyboard/drum interplay in the latter half. The lyrics are where this song really stands out making poignant observations about relationships falling apart, friends showing their uglier colors, and the failures of the music industry to the artists that keep it alive. This song is definitely worth diving into if you need your daily dose of self-examination or a lively beat to help you clear out your inner cobwebs.”
