David Bowie's personas of the seventies were his vehicle for access to different cultures: they legitimized his presence in those cultures but also allowed him to comment on them from an outsider’s perspective. Independent of his personas, he continued to expand to new forms of expression through his astute collaborations and experimentations with bending musical genres. This piece is a retrospective of the evolution, progression, and influence of David Bowie’s creative work in the seventies and today.
